How Audi Will Let Artificial Intelligence Design Its New Wheels
Audi is to use artificial intelligence in their designs moving forward. The marque will start by using FelGAN, an AI software to design their wheels. The Audi of 2022 leads in the automotive industry, With vehicles that have a high level of equipment be that in their SUVs like the Audi Q5 or their wagons like the A6 Avant. The company has to stay on top of all technological development, insuring that they not only compete with their German peers. But they're not the first brand to use AI to design their models.

Artificial intelligence designs the tennis racket of the future
The tennis racket has a very ancient origin. In fact it was used by the ancient Romans. It was then mainly used for the tennis court. The tennis racket, similar to that of the shuttlecock and basketball string, is characterized by a handle of different sizes, by a stem, by a central part, called the heart that joins the stem to the plate, therefore by the wider and rounded part constituted by the stringing, called the plate of the strings. The shape and materials used have slowly evolved over time, guaranteeing an improvement in impact and ball control, which was previously more difficult. Built in different materials, originally it was in wood, then it slowly evolved up to our days first to steel, then to aluminum alloys to get to carbon and graphite, the two materials now most used.
Why artificial intelligence design must prioritize data privacy
This article is brought to you thanks to the collaboration of The European Sting with the World Economic Forum. Data privacy is often linked with artificial intelligence (AI) models based on consumer data. Understandably, users are wary about automated technologies that obtain and use their data, which may include sensitive information. As AI models depend on data quality to deliver salient results, their continued existence hinges on privacy protection being integral to their design. More than just a way to dispel customers' fears and concerns, good privacy and data management practices have a lot to do with the company's core organizational values, business processes, and security management. Privacy issues have been extensively studied and publicized, and data from our privacy perception survey indicates that privacy protection is a crucial concern for consumers.
How to prioritise humans in artificial intelligence design for business
Through the pervasive use of massive amounts of data to automate decisions and processes, artificial intelligence (AI) constitutes one of the most impactful developments for businesses and organisations in general. However, this fast-paced and unstoppable trend raises ethical issues. How can we ensure that AI development is fair, when the algorithms at its core are designed with (often unconscious) racist, sexist, or other biases? Lorena Blasco-Arcas and Hsin-Hsuan Meg Lee propose a human-centred view for the design of specific frameworks and regulatory systems. "Okay, Google, what's the weather today?" "Sorry, I don't understand."
Artificial Intelligence Design Is Sexist, But It Doesn't Have To Be
This story starts with your average magazine rack circa March last year. Mindlessly browsing the covers, my eyes glazing over at the endless rows of healthy people, one magazine stood out. There was something uncanny about this model staring out under the headlines. She was adorned in an outrageous silver gown. Her face was almost contorted in a painful show of happiness.

Everyday Ethics for Artificial Intelligence – Design at IBM – Medium
Artificial intelligence already touches our lives both directly and indirectly; it works in the open and it works behind filters, apps, APIs, and other processes. AI promises immense change but this evolution is also a cause for concern. When decisions are driven by black box algorithms, the ripples of AI's influence are often difficult to measure. AI's new technologies and novel effects are spurring new methods of design and development. This marks the beginning of the age of relationship design.
How IEEE Aims to Instill Ethics in Artificial Intelligence Design - IEEE - The Institute
That's the opinion of Stephen Hawking along with other leaders in the AI field, noted in a 2014 article in The Independent. Much of the media portrays a negative perception of AI, publishing articles and airing news segments about the technology with images of The Terminator. However, not many members of the media are asking what can be done to reap the benefits of the technology and avoid the risks. Those questions require a deeper look, which is why the IEEE Standards Association formed the IEEE Global Initiative for Ethical Considerations in Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems, for which I serve as vice chair. In the past year, the initiative brought together more than 100 experts to collaborate on the report "Ethically Aligned Design."

This Is What It Looks Like When Artificial Intelligence Designs a Dress for the Met Gala
If you were picturing a not-so-distant future populated by ever-helpful artificial intelligence eager to kowtow to your every whim in a split second--well, think again. "I need another day," said the AI developed within algorithm editor Grasshopper to create a dress for the New York socialite Lisa Maria Falcone to wear to tonight's Met Gala. Designer Zaldy Goco, Robert de Saint Phalle of Conduit Projects (an interdisciplinary design and consulting studio), and computational designers Nicholas Jacobson and Jared Friedman all looked on in dismay. But much like the other minds behind the red carpet confections on display tonight, AI does not like to be pushed. To use logic, computation, generative algorithms, and mathematical optimization--or, simply, its artificially intelligent brain--to solve for the meticulous coding and arrangement of thousands of mirrors in 24 sizes and four colorways atop a flat grid of patterned pieces.
